What is the difference between transaction date and process date?

The transaction date is the date the transaction actually occurred. It is the one advertisers report to LinkShare, and depending on how their system is set up, can be defined in a number of ways: the date the consumer confirmed the purchase online, when the credit card was authorized, when the order actually shipped, or when the application was approved.

The process date is the date that LinkShare receives and processes an advertiser's transaction file. A transaction file may contain transactions from the day it was submitted or from two months earlier.

These reports are based on the transaction date: Sales & Activity, Revenue, Non-commissionable sales, Product Success, Program Level, Top 10 Advertisers, Top 10 Products, Top 10 Images, Individual Item, Link Type, Signature Activity.

The Signature Orders Report is the only report based on the process date.
